Steam Deck Client Beta Update: Keyboards, achievements, and bugs (fixes)

Note: This update is for the Steam Deck Beta and Preview channels, and includes new features that are still being tested. You can opt into this in Settings > System > Steam Update Channel.

Added Sucheng (Quick) keyboard for Traditional Chinese (requires Preview channel)
Added Achievements page to overlay (while in-game press Steam button)
Fixed notification for claiming digital rewards firing endlessly for some customers
Fixed Night Mode automatically kicking in, even if the toggle is set to OFF
Fixed desktop mode keyboard sometimes failing to show or dismiss

Steam Deck Client Beta Update: A few bug fixes

Note: This update is for the Steam Deck Client Beta channel, and includes new features that are still being tested. You can opt into this in Settings > System > Steam Update Channel.

Fixed a bug where some flatpak applications (like Edge) couldn't successfully quit
Fixed some issues with claiming Steam Deck digital rewards
Updated keyboard behavior for improved fast typing on trackpad and touchscreen. (pressing a key while holding another key will now commit the held key instead of waiting for first to release)

Steam Deck Client Beta Update: External UI scaling, keyboards, betas, and more

Note: This update is for the Steam Deck Client Beta channel, and includes new features that are still being tested. You can opt into this in Settings > System > Steam Update Channel.

Added an option to scale the Steam Deck user interface for external displays
Added a toggle for automatic scaling of the Steam Deck user interface for external displays
Added a scheduled night mode feature, allowing players to choose if and when they’d like night mode to automatically turn on
Added a Japanese (Kana) keyboard option
Added a new Steam Deck software update channel selector – there are now three options:
- Stable: Recommended experience for most users. This option will install the latest stable Steam Client and SteamOS.
- Beta: Testing for new Steam features. Updates frequently. This option will install Steam Client Beta and the latest stable SteamOS.
- Preview: Testing for new Steam and system-level features. Updates frequently. You may encounter issues. This option will install Steam Client Beta and the SteamOS Beta.
- You will only see patch notes for the update channel you've selected. As this feature is in Beta, if you opt into the Stable channel, you will not see this selector anymore.
Improved Korean keyboard user experience
Improved Adaptive Brightness slider user experience
Fixed flatpak Chrome closing improperly when quit through Steam
Fixed on-screen keyboard showing up under the Steam or Quick Access menu

Steam Deck Client Beta Update: Crash fixes, input updates, and CJK keyboards

General

Fixed some native Linux games not exiting when force-quit through Steam
Added button to clear entered text in search bar
Fixed several crashes related to managing screenshots
Fixed several crashes related to non-Steam shortcuts

Steam Input

Added missing Deck buttons for Gyro Enable and Button Chord options
Added support for game-bundled Virtual Menu icons in the in-game Deck UI
Misc performance improvements

Preview
The features below also require the Steam OS Beta - you can opt into this in Settings > System > OS Update Channel.

Added support for Simplified Chinese (Pinyin), Traditional Chinese (Pinyin, Zhuyin, and Cangjie), Japanese, and Korean keyboards. We are still refining these keyboards, please provide feedback in the forums.
Re-enabled the Adaptive Backlight feature.

Steam Deck Client Update: A very nice set of bug fixes

Update: this was re-released on 6/29 with two additional bug fixes.

Fixed an issue where clicking in-game links when offline would get Steam Deck into a bad state
Fixed navigation issues in the game EULA dialog
Fixed crashing issue when deleting a screenshot
Fixed the controller configurator failing to load when Steam Cloud is disabled
Fixed configurator failing to load when encountering corrupted controller layout files
Fixed controller virtual menus being limited to 4 active menus
Fixed a bug causing the touchscreen to occasionally be stuck in mouse-emulation mode when accessing the configurator in-game
Fixed issue where the Steam menu would interfere with the on-screen keyboard being invoked via Steam button chord
Fixed bug that causes install scripts to run at installation instead of when a game is first run, causing game dependencies that show interactive UI to open in the background and block future downloads
