Steam Deck Client Beta: January 16th

Note: This update is for the Steam Deck Beta and Preview channels, and includes new features that are still being tested. You can opt into this in Settings > System > Steam Update Channel.

General

Fixed opening onscreen keyboard in-game causing input to no longer go to game.
Added up/down cursor keys to keyboard, press shift then left/right cursor to use.
Added option to ignore Steam Rewards on Account page if they were registered by another user on the device.
Added pinned notifications for new inventory items, trade offers, async game turns, moderator messages, offline chat messages, and help request replies.

Steam Deck Client Beta: January 12th

Fixed regression causing "Maximum number of clients reached" issue
Fixed issue opting in to some game beta branches
Fixed Patch Notes button on Downloads page entries
Allow onscreen keyboard to be activated while in New Big Picture Mode and Steam window is not focused
Fixed some issues where onscreen keyboard and controller configurator windows could not be reactivated after closing

Steam Input

Fixed issue w/ Joystick Deadzone visualization not updating

Steam Deck Client Beta: January 11th

Changing download regions no longer requires restarting the Steam client
Add a rollup of gifts received in the Quick Access > Notifications area

Steam Input

Controller configurator now groups commands if they are attached to the same input
Controller configuration browsing screen can now preview configurations and the selection processes now previews then applies instead of directly selecting the configuration

Desktop Linux

Fixed some errors causing the Library not to render properly
Fix the "Start in Big Picture Mode" setting not updating
Center the navigation column in the Big Picture Overlay vertically to match the rest of the main menu

Virtual Keyboard

Standalone keyboard can now be brought up outside of Big Picture Mode
Fixed some issues using the Paste button outside of a web context

Steam Deck Client Beta: January 5th

Fixed reboot loop when failing to update a broken Steam install
Changed selected launch option reminder to show three times per user instead of continuing to show every time the user returns to the game details.
Fixed issues w/ digital navigation getting stuck on text boxes when using a physical keyboard

New Big Picture Mode

Fixed issue viewing the hardware survey web page after submitting results
Added option to turn off controllers when exiting BPM
Implemented Steam Controller dongle pairing
Added controller setting dropdown for controller idle turn off timeout
Prevented launch option reminder from appearing on top of other UI while a game is launching
UI Digital Navigation Key Repeats are faster

Steam Input

Added support for the ThrustMaster eSwap PRO Controller Xbox
Fixed long delay at startup when Razer keyboards are connected
Show controller settings in app properties game for non-Steam games
Fixed crash with games that use "Windows Gaming Input"
Gyro Calibration Rework: Calibration Calculates an anti-drift value as normal, but also records Gyro and Accelerometer noise while stationary, so that Auto Calibration (toggle) is more discerning

Linux

Fix instances of Steam freezing or crashing in desktop mode.
Fix closing non-steam shortcuts via the overlay when two or more are running.

Steam Deck OS 3.4.5 Preview Update

Note: This update is for the Steam Deck Preview channel, and includes new features that are still being tested. You can opt into this in Settings > System > Steam Update Channel.

Fixed a focus issue with Forza Horizon 5
Fixed an issue where performing a factory reset could cause the device to get stuck in an update loop

Note: This update was originally released to preview as 3.4.3, and was re-released on preview as 3.4.5 to incorporate the factory reset changes released to stable as 3.4.4
