Have we mentioned Steam Deck is a PC? Like any other PC, you can install other applications and OSes if you'd like. For those interested in installing Windows, you'll need a few additional drivers to have the best experience. Links to these, along with notes for installing Windows on Steam Deck can be found here. A few quick notes about these resources.

• For now you can only perform a full Windows install. While Steam Deck is fully capable of dual-boot, the SteamOS installer that provides a dual-boot wizard isn't ready yet.
  
• Also for now, you can only install Windows 10. Windows 11 requires a new BIOS that is currently in the pipe (which provides fTPM support) and will be shipping soon.
  
• Drivers are provided for GPU, WiFi, and Bluetooth. Audio drivers are still in the works with AMD and other parties - but you'll still be able to use Bluetooth or USB-C audio with Windows on Deck.

Lastly, we are providing these resources as is and are unfortunately unable to offer 'Windows on Deck' support. If you get stuck and need a way back to the default Steam Deck OS, please follow these recovery instructions.

• Fixed issue causing the first notification toast displayed after boot to render incorrectly
  
• Updated game status to be more accurate when local files haven't been synchronized with the Cloud files yet
  
• The screenshot management link from an app details page will now take you to the media page filtered to all screenshots for that specific app.

Controller Configurator

• Fixed haptics being applied to Right Joystick movement when loading a configuration authored for a Steam Controller
  
• Fixed case where Right Joystick would be set to the wrong output when loading a configuration authored for a Steam Controller
  
• Fixed bug w/ Trackpad Rotation setting not sticking
  
• Fixed bug where changing a setting in an action set layer could cause the config to show up blank
  
• Fixed cases where the cursor visibility options in the Action Set page could end up blank
  
• Fixed case where Joystick mode would be erroneously applied instead of Mouse mode when converting a Steam Controller mouse and keyboard configuration to other input types including Deck.
  
• Fixed issue that caused the Steam menu to briefly display content from when it was previously visible.

Hello!

We’ve just sent out order emails to the second batch of of Q1 reservations in the queue. For more info on how exactly this order email cadence works, please see last week’s post. We're excited to get Steam Decks into the hands of more customers!

Along with today’s batch of order emails, we have two announcements about reservations and availability.

• We have been working hard to increase the number of Steam Decks we can produce this year, and we now have more clarity on our longer term production schedule. As a result, in addition to Q1 and Q2, reservers can now see if they are in the Q3 order availability window. You can check the Steam Deck product page (while logged in) to see your reservation window.
  
• We are also looking into making Steam Deck available in more countries, including Japan, by the end of the year. The team is continuing to push on all of these fronts, and will share updates as we get more info.

We’ve been excited to hear from customers as more and more get Steam Decks in-hand - it's been amazing to see the posts, videos, and impressions showing up online over the past week. We were also happy to read about the overwhelmingly positive experiences of folks with advanced review units in the press and beyond. Here are a few examples:

Steam Cloud:

• Fixed Steam Cloud file conflict created in some cases when the game's Steam Cloud configuration has changed

Steam Input:

• Added mouse as an input option for games that use the Steam Input API
  
• Fixed a crash when no controller is attached
  
• Updated layout of mouse bindings page in the controller configurator

General:

• Now switch to the correct friends tab when opening invites via a notification
  
• Fixed a case where the same system update could be installed twice
  
• Added an option to disable WiFi power management under Settings->Developer. Disabling this may improve connection reliability on 5GHz networks.
  
• Fixed bug when opening the developer notes on Deck Verified info panel
  
• Added additional information for when the keyboard theme cannot be changed
